The Mona Lisa

The Mona Lisa's unique portrait is also popularly known as La Gioconda or La Joconde. This painting art primarily belongs to the sixteenth century and is beautifully painted by the elite painter Leonardo di Ser Piero da Vinci in oil on wood that compactly measured 77 x 53 cm. This painting is currently being graciously displayed in Paris, France at the Museum of Louvre. 

In the present era, undoubtedly, this painting is considered as one of the worlds' most popular paintings. Its popularity is essentially due to the enigmatic smile of Mona Lisa.

Mona Lisa is the portrait of a young and beautiful woman of Florentine who was actually the beloved wife of Francesco del Gioconda.  The painter Leonardo was an Italian and genuinely from multidisciplinary fields. He was not only a scientist, but also a true sculptor, architect and engineer.

He basically painted Mona Lisa as the prototype for the Renaissance human ideals. Mona Lisa is actually dressed in the elite fashions of those days and she grandly sits in the front of the magnificent landscape which is covered with lovely mountains. 

This painting is the perfect combination of heavy as well as light shading. The outlines were smartly erased by painter's finger to create a novel fuzziness impression.It is worthwhile to be noted that the corner of eyes and mouth of Mona Lisa were not made distinctive by painter and merged in light shadow to essentially make her mood expression quite ambiguous.
